Our first boat here in Canada was a 1987 Bayliner 2850 Contessa Command Bridge. It was a wonderful boat and we built many happy memories on board her. Our first trip across the Strait of Georgia was on board her. Our first trip up the Sunshine Coast to Secret Cove was on board her. Both these trips were just amazing, both beautiful and at times very scary, but you can read about these in the trips pages.
Kuredu 1 was 30ft LOA (Length Overall) with a beam of 10 foot. She was equipped with a 7.4l OMC V8 motor delivering 330hp. Sleeping space for up to 6 people, as long as 4 of them were pretty small and no-one minded having no privacy at all. Galley has an alcohol/electric 2 plate cook-top, small fridge and single basin for cleaning. The head was pretty small and showers were had sitting on the toilet.
Equipment on board included twin depth sounders, GPS and Furuno Radar. Dingy was a hard-shell 9 foot Livingston with a 2hp Johnson 2-stroke outboard. This was a nice setup but, in retrospect, way too heavy for the back of this boat - an inflatable would have made a lot more sense.
The Bayliner 28 ft Command Bridge is a good mid-sized cruiser for a small family. It handles rough water very well (we know, trust me) and is easy to handle by two people.

Here are some pics from when we went down to see her the first time (well, mostly). More of her will be in some trip albums.
